Ice Dragon's Omega:Frozen Heart

“Oh,” I said, trying to hide my disappointment.

He walked past me, his stern eyes set straight ahead on the trail, and I wondered if I had assumed too much and gone too far. The guy was in heat, he had to be. But I had gotten cocky and assumed he was attracted to me. I mentally kicked myself.

Fuck.

That’s what I got for thinking with my dick. I guess yesterday’s masturbation session didn’t really help me think any straighter about the whole thing. I stared at his broad shouldered back, flakes of snow blowing into his hair as he made his way back down the trail, and I started after him, all the while kicking myself for getting too ahead of myself. Not going to lie, I was embarrassed as fuck.

After walking back down in silence for an hour or so, I finally picked my courage back up and called out to Karr. “Hey, I’m sorry about earlier. It was inappropriate of me.”

“No need to make excuses for yourself,” Karr grunted, and I felt my face flush.

“I’m just trying to apologize for putting you on the spot.”

He waved his hand. “No apologies necessary. You’re helplessly horny after being on the road for a while and you’re tantalized by the thought of some dragon cock. I get it.”

“What? That’s not…” I stop myself. “Okay, fine. Yes, you’re right. I’ve been backpacking for months now and haven’t gotten any in even longer than that, so maybe my dick spoke before my brain had time to think about what it was I was gonna say. But what about you?”

A good haze of snow had begun to blow in on the wind now, and opened and closed my hands to try and get some blood flowing to my fingers. Despite all my gear, the cold was starting to get to me. I hadn’t been ready to go out in a snow storm.

“What about me?” he called over his shoulder.

“Trystal said you’ve been here since you were my age. Dragon years, of course.”

“You make it sound like I’m ancient. Yeah, I’ve lived on this mountain for more than half my life now. So what?”

“So…you’ve never had a mate?”

“No, I’ve never had a mate.”

“Why not?”

“Christ, you’re nosy. Are all humans usually this nosy?”

“Sorry,” I mumbled. Stupid. Keep your mouth shut till we get back.

We walked on. Karr’s pace quickened and the snow started to blow in thicker. My extremities were freezing, and my mind had shifted completely to focus staying with it, but I was having a hard time.

“I should’ve seen this coming,” Karr said. “Damn. We shouldn’t have been out here today. You alright back there?”

The wind was biting me. I had experienced coldness out on the road before, but nothing like this. It was relentless in a way that I didn’t think was possible, like my body was being poked with hundreds of tiny needles. I tried to focus on putting one foot in front of the other, to keep going, but I losing concentration…things were fading into a haze of white.

It’s too cold…

The last thing I remembered was Karr’s dark form ahead of me, silhouetted in the whiteness of the snow storm as my vision tunneled and all the lights went out.

Things came to me in flashes, just a haze really. I was in and out of consciousness, my mind going from dreams to reality, and was completely incapable of telling the two apart. I felt the cold rushing away from my body as I was enveloped in warmth, and I saw myself back in the bathtub of my hotel room, my cock in my hand as I masturbated to the fantasy of being fucked by Karr. I then saw his face looking down at me, his eyes glowing a vivid pale blue. He was saying something to me, but I couldn’t make out what. He had stopped looking so stern for once. He looked…concerned?

Blackness.

Coldness again. I was naked and shivering, and then suddenly felt the hotness of flesh against my bare skin. Enveloping, holding me close. Was this a dream? I couldn’t tell. I could smell an intoxicatingly warm scent of alpha musk, strong and pervasive like I had never experienced before in my life. I could feel the steady rise and fall of a chest against my back, and the steady beating of a heart that wasn’t my own. This had to be a dream.

It all faded away, and I found pure interrupted sleep.

When my eyes opened, the world around me was a blur. The first thing I realized was that I was in a bed – a large, king sized bed that definitely wasn’t the one from my room at the lodge. The room was dim, and I heard the low crackle of a burning fire. Orange light from the flames danced off the walls. The next thing I realized was that I was completely naked.

What the hell happened…? I tried to remember. Karr…

I realized where I was, and then I saw him sitting in a chair by a wood stove, just a few feet away from the foot of the bed. He was gazing into the flames, the firelight glowing off of his pale eyes. He turned to look at me, and my heart skipped a beat.

“You’re awake,” he said, standing up.

“What happened to me?”

“It was my fault. I had a lapse in judgement, we should’ve never gone out yesterday. You passed out on the trail back, nearly had hypothermia. I brought you back to my cabin.”
